Alot of time has gone by,
Alot of tears I did cry,
Though you tried your best,
You can't blame me for laying my feeling to rest,
But I've grown older,
My hatred for you is over,
You've stepped out of the shadows,
And I've seen your scars from battle,
Now I know the pain you felt,
Of not seeing your kids, but that's the cards that were delt,
But you stayed strong,
For that the Lord has given you this bond,
So I thank the Lord for giving me my dad,
That's something growing up I never had,
So alot of time has passed,
But it's not to late to rekindle your past,
Time has a way of healing the pain,
So do me a favor, don't be ahsamed,
Don't worry about the time that has past,
Because in my heart, you'll always be my dad.
