How Do You See Me?

Contributed by RavenShadows on Friday, 3rd September 2004 @ 11:20:37 AM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

Do you see me as I was
A young child in your arms
Holding fast to her mommy
Cause those years are all long gone
Can you picture me as I was
An usure teen trying to find my way
Pushing away from her mother
Independence comes with a price
Do you remember the good years
I pretended everything was just fine
Hiding the wounds under my coat
To protect you from my pain
One drug to many
Things got way out of hand
I didnt know mom, I didnt think
Just try to understand
I didnt mean to hurt you
I didnt really want to leave
Mom I'll always be with you
Dont make loosing me a reason to grieve
Just hold me in your arms
As you did in those lost days
I'll fall asleep peacefully
And you'll lay me in my grave
In the night you'll hear the echos
Faint memories left behind
Do you see me as I was mommy?
A baby in your arms
Holding fast to you mommy
In your loving arms.

The poetry is A+....the thoughts echo around me...life , such as it is. How to make something beautiful out of something ugly and sad.
