Lost in Slavery

Contributed by cman on Friday, 3rd September 2004 @ 11:49:43 PM in AEST
Topic: AmericanTragedy

Each day I roll the dice, Each day I fold my hand,
Betting on my faith youre better than I am.

Sometimes we are so ugly, the worst that we can be,
The wonders of this world lost in our misery.

I find myself unhappy, I find myself unclean,
Lost within the darkness as far as I can see.

And in the night I wonder, And in the day I dream,
Freedom is a bird thats flown away from me.

Swallowed by despair, or swallowed by the sea,
Floating down a river - drifting aimlessly.

Loneliness, a note that no one wants to sing,
Do I really care or am I imagining.

I find myself unhappy, I find myself unclean,
Lost within the darkness as far as I can see.

And in the night I wonder, And in the day I dream,
Freedom is a bird thats flown away from me.

But in the end I know, waiting impatiently,
Be dead or be alive, its all the same to me.
Whats left is said whats not bleeds red,
Waiting impatiently.

I can relate to this. I hope you find freedom. I enjoyed reading this as it flowed effortlessly. Kudos to you!

Great and powerful write. I saw it on the least read. How sad. I loved these lines:

I find myself unhappy, I find myself unclean,
Lost within the darkness as far as I can see.

Glad I found this. Peace to you, Laura
