Have You Ever....

Have you ever
taken a video camera to another country
and forgot that they have different power sockets for your battery
switched on the lights or fiddled with the taps in the shower
knowing full well that life will be different in two hours with no power
daydreamed while driving your car a far distance
then realising you missed your road and can't turn at that instance
grocery shopped and about to pay at the counter
then noticed your wallet is still home near the computer
felt kind hearted enough to let your dog inside for a while
but left the front door ajar and it's little legs excape and run for a mile
put a new film in your camera for a perfect picture you thought
got them developed on top of an old film instead you bought
said hello to someone you don't know at all
chatting away then realising it's not them and feel like a fool

| turned around and said something intimate, thinking I was talking to my husband only to notice my husband had walked away and I was talking to a stranger...This is a great poem for a group write... |
