From Darkness To Light ?

Solitary confinement on a cold, dreary night
An angel has fallen into Miserys malignant plight
The Hermes of the Most High used to get high & watch stacks multiply
Transformed into a righteous knight - until one day he would die
Cast off into the darkness, an enigmatic man to the masses
Growing every day in dog years, but always quick unlike molasses
Was his identity mistaken? Is he living a fallacy?
Suddenly awoke on a midsummers eve and witnessed the tragedy
His ascension through the ranks - was shot down by a dart
Slowly descending to earth-like realitycrying with a wounded heart
Who is destiny? What is destiny? Why am I here?
Every second he feels is wasted; he trembles in fear
He has visions of triumphant feats and justifiable revolution
But without a strong voice, tis impossible to reform institutions
Does he preach to his peers to justify his guilt of feeling lazy?
To which Promised Land can they follow - a madman that is crazy
He has broken bread with beggars and billionaires, the middle class & 3rd world
A man confused with ambitions, too many arrows have been hurled
Will he rise from darkness to take his throne?A forgotten prince with distant royal heirs?
Will he give up? Anywaywho in the hell cares
