I hate the winters here in the county They make me wanna shred all my memories to pieces It doesnt matter what Im feeling Ill just end up down the drain again
And the time on the clock Makes me remember How I felt that night in September When I finally realized No matter how hard I try Things will never be how I planned them to be
So long, sweet summer You gave me hope that lasted Thanks for those memories I wont let myself shred them apart
When they first came, things were all right Now that Im with them The stars shine so bright
Dont mind these tears I dont know their motive or meaning But hands down, I swear to you Youve made this the best time of my life
Maybe my eyes are flooded Because these times wont last forever As much as Id prefer them to
And even if when we get there Our mission fails Ill still be content Until we start driving home I mean, Driving back to where they want us to be
Because home is back in California Where we belong together
