N'ER FORGOTTEN HIS LOVE

"N'ER FORGOTTEN HIS LOVE"

He was older, he was quiet, he was kind,
Protective of what was his, brilliant mind
Heavy weight champ wrestler, Ex-Marine.
Top Security Clearance U.S. Gov't--loyalty keen!

Gentle hands, I'll never forget his hands!
Watching his kind acts, no demands, no commands.
Feelings run deeper than the deepest well.
Comfortable peaceful soul, warm feeling, color pastel.

"Fire in the Belly" rarely on display.....
Masterful confidential listener, n'er betray!
Prayerful man, cried unashamed, mature,
Picked me up.....
"Big Bear Hug"--embraces so secure!

Good teacher,
"Endure.....for bad times there's a cure!"
Quiet observer, yet tremendous humor inure.
Father like no other, spanked soundly,
Children unafraid, explained his actions firmly!

I was without love for my 21 years of age,
His empathy carried me through my rage.....
I was young, immature, he understood, n'er faltered
First to say, "I'm sorry," when I was angry,
he n'er answered.

Remembered most? His touch n'er displayed in public.
Private, sacred vows, fine mannered classic.
On my wedding day, I was "frantic-atic" he took a nap.
Well read, well spoken, Welshman, fine looking chap!

We kneeled to pray, our vows repeated to each other.
He was sweating profusely, cheat on each other never!
In good times, in bad times.....
STOP!!!
"This man you are about to marry will soon die!
Under those conditions do you still want him? No lie!"

Oh, Dear God How I Loved Him.....
knew him even more on the day he died.....
He knew he was going to pass away,
told friends, "Connie will be Ok."
"She adapts well, and will pray."

I forgot to mention he had memorized my heart
His love replaced my unloved soul.....a start.
So much so.....filled to the brim, n'er grew dim.
Continuing to love.....in honor of him.

I've been asked, "Do you ever recover?"
I answer.....
"No," like he said, "You learn to adapt 'til forever."
With much hope, love and grace.....
Until once again your hearts embrace!

In memory of my dear
Bob on our 46th wedding
Anniversary Sept 6, 1958.

"A name is better than good oil,
and the day of death, than the day
of one's being born."
From the Bible,
~Ecclesiastes 7:1~

"Hopeful Smiles!"

Well, this brought a flood of tears. I haven't adapted yet and not sure I ever will. Time goes on, in spite of it all, like everything is o.k. Nothing is o.k. I don't know how you find the strength. I grasp on tight every day just to hold on to my sanity. God, you are an amazing woman. Much love to you.

Rita

Oh Connie,
His never seen touch still lingers and makes itself known to others through your beautiful words.
Do you ever feel as though there is some one reading over your shoulder as you type your posts ?
He smiles with us as we read your humor, and cries with us as we feel your pain
But he has the advantage of doing so ... as you type.

That is at least, what I choose to believe

Nazmythian ~
