the feeling of rushing
is stressful no hushing
there's yelling and running
and heart beating turning
putting things down quickly
remembering is tricky
no time to itch thee
can't hear the clock don't want to see
coffee cup tips
no time for for breaky on dry lips
jump into the car driving
no speeding, police love fining
stomach is still rumbling
and my head is really thumping
the feeling of stress has not left me yet
sleeping in so late is what I reget

| Hahaha! I quite like this poem, since it appears to be all I am doing lately.....running late.......Great job! I really, really enjoyed this! It helped me feel better after I was *late* (the irony!) today for 2 of my classes, I think it was...Anyway, great poem! I really enjoyed it! You did a fabulous job! And, by any chance, is the title of this poem a reference to the River Phoenix movie of "Running on Empty"? I am quite a fan of the Phoenix and I was just curious....if its not a reference to that, then great job! Very good title to come up with! It would have caught my eye even if I didn't know about the movie! Very creative, with the title and the poem! ^_^ |

Don't I know this feeling only too well!!! Only thing is it happens every morning when I come online to check my e-mail and my best friend is online..lol....
