Waking Autumn

The sky is an ocean of blueness,
As scattered clouds hang like,
Frozen waves captured in its enormity.
The winds have changed,
Slowly,
As the cool Canadian breeze,
Walks lazily into the valley,
Singing soft lullabies,
To the ardent complacency,
Of the waning summer.
The climbing kudzu,
(Once green and vibrant),
Clings to tall oaks,
While the newly chilled air,
Stains its rainment pastel yellow.
Passing birds sing the songs of winter,
As they sit on the rusty tin roofs,
Of antiquated tobacco barns,
Who hold their musty treasures,
Deep within themselves,
Like a proud pyramid,
Concealing an ancient pharaoh.
The gray haze that blankets,
The shadowy mountains,
Lifts like a ghostly veil,
Revealing their hidden secrets,
As red,brown,and yellow leaves,
Melt into a sea of autumn serenity,
That bids farewell to the stoic heat,
And welcomes the gleeful children,
Of the approaching fall.
Autumn has come to the south,
As the plump harvest moon,
Waits patiently for the setting,
Of the last summer sun.
The world is weary,
Sleep has come.
Welcome autumn.
Welcome.

Wow! I liked the style, the theme, and the flow that accompanied this wonderful write. Great imagery making me welcome my autumn with open arms! And a jacket. lol
