This Opened Door

Contributed by XxNights_ChildxX on Saturday, 11th September 2004 @ 02:02:34 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

The simplicity of it all, the weakness that I find,
Watching it slowly fall, leaving me completely blind,
Unknown to your eyes, foreign to your capacity,
In the darkness lurks spies, searching for animosity,
Understood by very few, mislead by a great deal,
If you only knew, if it's fake or real,
The answers always hidden, not to be revealed,
But sometimes the secrets given, the lock now un-sealed,
And if you open that door, there is no going back,
A life where there's no more, impossibly on the right track,
Blackness shall surround you, nothing will you hear,
Something horrifying but true, not able to shed a tear,
Finding out life was worthless, no more inhaled breath,
Could have been more careless, this opened door is death.

Great ending line, very well written.

Understood by very few, mislead by a great deal,
If you only knew, if it's fake or real,

I really liked these two lines also

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
