Although he will never see me for me
he is still the apple that dangles from my tree
And even if he looks through me instead of at me
my heart will never stop humming to the sound of his voice, it's eternal beat
And just because no matter how hard I try to to catch his eye
he keeps passing me by I will never give up for he is the sun in my sky
Who cares if I know I'll never have the chance to hold or even come close to his hand
in my heart he'll always be "my man"
Near or far high or low
he is the candle that gives me my glow
Does it hurt that I realize
he will never be my Valentine?
No, because even if he never gives me the time or day
whether he knows it or not he'll always have me stashed away for a rainy day
So although he will never see me for me
he is still the apple to my tree
