Another Wasted Youth

ABOUT POEM:
I grew up with this chick...she never really cared who she hung out with...now she's in highschool wanting to be "popular" Wanting and seeking attening! It's so stupid and sad how she's changed..thinking she's better than her old friends...we were there, we grew up with her, and now all she cares about is herself, popularity, and just basically fitting in! She's a Fake! She sits right next to me and doesn't even say anything to me! OMG and my old best friend sits right in front of me in a another class and is so concieted up the ass! Not a word from her either! What Losers!

One so stuck in a world of themselves
Losing touch with who they once were
Becoming who they thought they should be
Lying to themselves
To become a fake
A lost soul
Wanting attention
Wanting to be like everyone else
So sad to see
Another one go
Another one following
Another one gone...

As long as you are true to yourself is all that matters. Besides....it is obviously not a friendship lost if they are to fake to even love themselves. Just keep your head up.....you'll make better friends through out life.

Oooh, I like this . . . so true, too. It's one of the saddest things you can find in school. I think we've all witnessed it before, and you describe it perfectly. The last three lines are just so poignant . . .

Well, great job, very well done.

Great poem! Perfectly describes why many people wind up as just cattle shuffling through a gate!

Another one that goes through life without an ounce of loyalty to friendship. It's not about how many people like you, it's about who they are, and why they do.
Take care, Summer.
