I've seen the best minds of my generation taken, kicking and screaming, to be placed in front of a TV screen for hours on end.
I've seen twelve-year-olds and thirty-year-olds all plundered, yet happy, lying on the floors of apartments in a smoky haze of marijuana.
I've seen crazy people and sane people crying in the streets for some kind of answer not found in our world.
Not found in cell phones or drive-thru windows, 24-hour soap operas or indie music.
I've seen them lie down, assuming there was no answer, and none of it's worth a bean, a penny or a bird in the bush.
I've seen children no older than eight dragged to psychology wards for incurable depression.
I've seen flashing, flashing, FLASHING signs shove never-minds and advertisements down the throats of innocent bystanders.
I've heard album upon album repeated and re-entered, they play it loud in the streets or quiet in their minds, it's the same.
I've seen parties smelled or sensed down the street from the kinetic energy of people no longer burdened by perception.
I've seen tired eyes and worn-out lies on faces of those who should never have had to say goodbye.
I've seen sparks blown out by jaded love's produced by a generation of synthesized crap and don't-let-go rhymes.
I've seen that for some the only release is sacrificing his mind to late night fixes on the bathroom floor of who-care's apartment.
I'm with you in the far left field where women can't walk down the street without men yelling out for sex or... an answer.
I'm with you in the far left field where catching the ball, isn't the issue.
I'm with you in the far left field where old men fall flat on their faces and stay there.
I'm with you in the far left field when never is a promise fulfilled.
I'm with you in the far left field where regurgitating information is all requested of anyone.
I'm with you in the far left field where fenced-in whatevers and struck-out homeruns are everything implied.
I'm with you in the far left field where a jaded generation is only the beginning.

Ohmigod. This is very, very, very awesome . . . perfect . . . I don't know what to say.
I'm in love with the line, "I've seen flashing, flashing, FLASHING signs shove never-minds and advertisements down the throats of innocent bystanders."
You are so freaking talented it's annoying . . . anyhow, I'm off to mention this in a certain forum, so seeya.

I've seen tired eyes and worn-out lies on faces of those who should never have had to say goodbye.
That lines tugs at me. It is... heartbreaking, I think. Honest and heartbreaking. The entire piece is incredibly intelligent, well expressed and... (just as I like them) very thought provoking.
I have to confess... I struggle a bit with writes that includes very long lines. I have to, practically, talk myself into the read. In this instance... I am so very, very glad that I did read this. I would not have wanted to miss it. Well, well done!
Wishing I could change the reality behind so many of those lines but knowing I cannot...
