Night

Contributed by aspenglow on Wednesday, 15th September 2004 @ 11:54:20 PM in AEST
Topic: insomniac

Darkness falls, and night begun,
voices still but lingering on.
Promises made, wishes and dreams,
beautiful maidens, nobel knights,
lovers thoughts, and sweet delights.

Tease the mind, move the heart.
The voice whispers, memories stirred,
but love remains a forgotten word.

But in the mind, and in the soul,
cries out to the light, from the darkness,
where have you gone.

The answer teases from the wind,
I have not gone....I linger still,
just beneath your window sill.

Open the window, and all is gone,
whispers from the soul within,
crying out to leave and return,
not to wander and never to yearn.

Where has that of my heart gone,
why have I stayed on so long,
after the dance has ended,
music faded, where has my
love gone.

You have a natural graceful elegance that flows from you into your poetry. It is soft and beautiful to read. Very soothing as well.

Your poem had a sad melancholy feel to it and I tell you honestly that I found it exquisite to read.

Oh Chris, that was a lovely poem, but so sad somehow. I've been gone for a whole week, where did all your poems go? I surely did miss your humor.
Did you have to empty your poem cart?
So nice to be able to read your poems again my friend.
Hugs
