Iraq war illegal, says Annan

The United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan has told the BBC the US-led invasion of Iraq was an illegal act that contravened the UN charter.

The UN may not be perfect
Do I hear a group groan?
But theyre the best we have
But the U.S. can only moan

So much carping criticism
A bystander who doesnt care
truly about the rest of the world
Or what is really fair

Now Kofi Annan
Says the Iraq attack WAS illegal
Bush has defamed America
Sullied her noble eagle

He pushed self-interest
Greedy and obsessed
All self-agrandizement
Like some state terrorist

And so America now knows
What the rest of the world has known
That an illegal act by Bush
Out of LIES has grown
