Heartbreak Release September 18, 2004 My breath catches in my throat And then my heart quivers Like I've swallowed a hook Tearing my heart apart In slow and aching splits My throat swallows nothing Time and time again And I can feel the nothing Going down, past my searing heart To settle in discomfort My hands are fisting, releasing, fisting again As if to hold back my tears But no tears can fall From these forsaken eyes My lip is caught, between my chattering teeth Below my squinted eyes That stare from blank to blank Refusing to look at your face In my shoes my toes are curling My right heel nervously tapping In rhythym to my heartbeat Slow and loud, an echo through my body And when alone I grip the wall To keep me on my feet Head tilted back so I can look Up into the walls blocking the sky And see right through to Him Now everyone has left me Taken the hint Alone to release The tears hurting behind my eyes But still no sign of letting them go Why? I whisper to the covered clouds Hand over my mouth As I slide along the wall To sit in a crumpled ball I wonder why I can't just cry And release the heartbreak Once and for all

This is a really good poem, and i am so sorry no one has commented on it.
Sometimes we all just need release,
I hope it comes for you soon, and you feel better for it.
Great write,
Phil xxx |
