Just This One

Contributed by thumbsucker on Thursday, 18th July 2002 @ 06:33:01 AM in AEST
Topic: Grief

Oh my Lord, please not this one, not today.
So many lights will soon flicker no more.
Would it matter if this flame could just stay?
A second chance to shine on as before.

Couldn`t this name be on a new list?
This one has so much more living to do.
For many of us your point will be missed.
Down here on earth we don`t get the full view.

This one needs help in reaching the shore.
I`m worried there will be no outstretched hand.
I thought I knew once, I don`t know anymore.
I`m only mortal, I don`t understand.

Have to be strong and believe all the more.
This isn`t the time to sing a sad tune.
Miracles can happen, they`ve happened before.
Oh my Lord, please bring this one home to me soon.

Dedicated to all those in need of an outstretched hand

Great write.
