Dreams of Darkness

I sink into a place where no one can hear my screams
But I hear the painful shrieks that endlessly haunt my dreams
Ominous overcast threatens a foreboding storm
The thunder warns as the path ahead forms
The screams continue that ache my heart and anger my soul
As I walk down there narrow path with determination beyond my control
The light fades and darkness finds me
And the approaching shadows remind me of my inability
To see or feel the emotions I seek
To experience the love I once felt, I'm weak
So dark I can see nothing but my crawling pale skin
I feel no sadness, but the tears come from within
The path before me disappears
Suddenly my unfeeling heart is instilled with fear
Lost in the shadows of an unrelenting nightmare
Suddenly feeling nonexistent, like I'm nowhere
My meaning becomes lost, my direction aimless
As I wander in the shadows and fade into nothingness
