Ethical Anomaly

Contributed by SuicideParty on Sunday, 26th September 2004 @ 10:04:40 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

A war rages, and were using the same excuses that were taught to us from youth.
Frightened by our lust for blood, they were on the retreatbut no more.
Blind faith is foolish, but more so is the belief that all weve been told is truth.
Our control is slipping away from us; were losing a battle that wed won once before.

The earth is red, like the moon on the night of our death, but we notice none of this.
And we fight, but we do not strugglepray, but dare not hope for escape.
Cold arms wrap us in an embrace of betrayal, and were sent to our death with a kiss.
This nightmare, this sickeningly twisted fantasywe may sleep, but I fear we wont wake.

Make the best of your time in a world filled to the brim with nothing worth saving.
One can never tell what will be presented when faced with such a fickle thing as fate.
This conflict of ethics, this vile thing we call liferush in, no banners waving.
Unobtrusive, Ill be here when you fall, when you fail, when you cry, when you loseI will wait.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
