My life in my hands
Staring up at the sky
Counting stars as they fall
Quiet sobs tell a lie

Live a lie, welcome death
Love your suffering, lose your breath
Lost in pain on my knees
Whispered prayers, murmured pleas

Hardened hearts cast a glow
Frozen time, they wont know
People rise, people fall
Feeble stands, rulers crawl

Always just, never fair
Hidden eyes, souls threadbare
Hope alive, if barely shown
Always mocking, shame unknown
