I wish that we all could be treated equal
inspite of our different beliefs
It is a shame that we are enemies
when the road that we're on is the same
If I have hurt you I say I'm sorry
I'll try to fix the mistakes I have made
but to avoid me in light of ouf differance
Is to build a wall that separates
I am reaching out my hand to you
I will not beg you to take it
I will be your friend
If you want me to
But I can't if you won't take this chance
All through these battles
I've watched the responses
and attitudes come to a head
The swinging of fists
has me cringing in silence
wiping away hopeful tears
I hope that peace will come
through honest intentions
I hope we can spur
our dividing contentions
And be the true friends that we wanted to be
when we first started to dream
I am reaching my hand out to you
I can not beg you to take it
I know it is a gift that's to be earned
so I take this chance for you
I am reaching my hand out to you
I will not beg you to take it
I'll be your friend if you want me to
But I can't if you don't take this chance
