Dear John

Contributed by pezmo on Thursday, 30th September 2004 @ 08:03:07 AM in AEST
Topic: Tributes

" Dear John, when you were killed alot of tears were spilled. Why did you have to be killed by that man its like no one gave a damn. Because so many people loved your lyrics, some of them were sad and blue but there were always true. And when you wrote that song Imagine, who could have belived it would be such a powerful song and like the song you proved everyone wrong. I would love to have met you John, cause in my eyes you are no.1. The world misses you and I do too!

I enjoyed reading this mostly because it was on an offbeat topic, I agree too, why does lennon die when regan only gets wounded?

I like the way you wrote it as a dear john letter, nice one

whilst the Dear John adds to an insurmountable pile of other Dear Johns, I'm quite sure the man is thankful for the affection... nice write! ;0)

I have always been a huge beatles fan, and i remember the day in 1980 when john was shot. I remember everyone being upset at Elvis's death 3 years before, but Lennons death realy hit me hard, i was 13 at the time
and had grown up with his music.
Everytime i hear the song working class hero, i think to myself that's John pouring out his soul. Nice dedication

wildejohnny.
