Married to the Guilt

She came in with another fat lip, said that nothing was wrong. But I can tell she's still married to the guilt. And I have told her to wipe away her tears, because she's too beautiful to let them scar her eyes.
But she never listens, only pretends she's okay, tells me she's doing fine. But her bruises show and I can tell that she's done it again.
I know she's apologetic, and I know she knows it's alright. Even though it hurts to see her in this shape, I know that she is happy. But I still wish I could change her heart.
