Accept no Sunshine

Contributed by MaMort on Saturday, 2nd October 2004 @ 08:42:54 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

As you watch the very remnants of shattered light fade into the sky
Darkness imbeds itself into your eyes
For one split second your body feels cold
You can't see your hand or the light it still holds

a million creatures with curious glares
watch as you blankly stare............
into nothing, or so it seems
Yielding so gracefully into your pensive dreams

As the buildings behind you seem to sway with the sounds
You don't understand what it is you have found...
You can't comprehend quite where you are
But the light in your hand, won't go so far.

So release the sun and succumb to the night
For the day will be back, hear what I say
So darkness come hither, and show me your might
Embrace me for now, and wait for the day.
