In The Autumn

In the autumn my mind changes
Like the leaves on the trees
Walking, thinking about life
Enjoying the breeze
Saying a prayer of thankfulness
Quietly to myself
Health, love and family
Has been my greatest wealth
Blessing, I have many
Sorrows, Ive had a share
But my mind and heart are cleansed
In the cool evening air
Im like a tree in the autumn
Preparing for the winter cold
Stripping myself of weight
As I walk down lifes road
O dear friend of mine
Wont you walk with me?
Through the open fields
Enjoying what life gives free

| Great poem. Usually when a person reaches the winter of his/her life they don't prepare for life's blessings any more. This poem is an inspiration to the contrary. |
