This Life

Contributed by von on Wednesday, 13th November 2002 @ 12:30:00 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

I thought I was doing the right thing all these years.
But day after day my eyes feel with tears.

This life that I hold in my hands
Is waht I've longed for to be mine.
Where did I go wrong when I thought everything was going just fine?

To hear the words "I hate you"
Brings a great pain to my heart.
And my world begins to fall apart.

I've tryed to be the best that I can be
But theres just not enough of me.

I'de lay my life on the line if I had to
I'de do what ever it would take so he could see that he wasn't a misstake.

This life I've created has showed me that
I too can be strong.
But many times it has told me that I was wrong.

I live my days wondering if it's the right time to get out of bed.
Should I let the sun shine in
Or put the covers over my head?

Never thought I'de have to play both rolls.
And it get's harder as each day unfolds.

My life I wouldn't trade for another.
I only wish this twisted world
Could teach me to be a better mother

I'm sure you feel now that everything you do is wrong, but I'm sure later in life you'll know that you did what you had to & everything went ok! What I'm getting out of this poem is that you are a single parent trying to raise your kids & it doesnt feel like your doing the best job, well I know raising children isnt easy & it takes alot for any mother,my husbands on the road a lot & I too have to some times play both roles! I hope you'll feel better about this some day.God bless! Christina
