Falling Eagle

Quickly, silently,
The dying eagle falls to the ground.
Still so young,
He hardly had a chance to live.
His beautiful mother
Was taken from him by a hunters bullet.
His magnificent father
Suffered the same horrible fate.
Barely out of the nest,
Hes only six months old.
Just an orphan,
Hes had no parent to teach him survival.
Hes always been alone.
With a soft, solid thud,
The poor beast hits the ground, dead.
This scene is a painful reminder
Of how Ive lived my life:
Always alone,
An uncaring mother and a father who was never there,
I had to learn to survive
On my own.
For 10 years, I raised myself,
I raised my siblings,
And my childhood died
For lack of nourishment,
Sealing the transition from child to adult
When I was only eight years old.

| Good write man. You have a lot on here that I haven't read yet. You need to come back down and kick it with your old friends some man. My baseball bat is getting cold. PM me sometime. Yahoo, whatever. Dang good write though, I love the word usage and the comparison. |
