Broken Smile

Sitting stacked in an attic on top of dusty boxes and old rocking chairs. Catching morning rays through stained cracked and rickety glass. Locked away it's no good anymore. It's broken. Rusty from lack of use it ages into place against the backdrop of forgotten memories of lost lives forsaken joys. It's borken. Tears slide across these lips it freezes into place. It's broken. A broken smile.

So sad. I enjoyed the imagery in this poem it
really portrayed the sense of loss beautifully,
yet tragically.
