Beautiful

Contributed by BluGurl6 on Thursday, 14th November 2002 @ 02:30:00 AM in AEST
Topic: Grief

She has blue eyes that light up the room
And reflect the ocean when you look into them
She speaks and you listen to her soft angel voice
You touch her hand, and feel her smooth skin
You kiss her cherry lips
She is so very beautiful
This you tell her so many times
A few years pass and she has your son
You name him after your father who has passed
She does not argue,
Although you have both agreed on a different name
Many nights she cries herself to sleep
After you bruise her fare skin
You argue with her about everything
You tell her that she's ugly and fat
But she's not
She's so beuatiful
She was tucked in bed that night
When you came home late and drunk
You beat her off the queen size bed
That you once made love to her in
Her screams echoed with the wind that night
And so did the name calling
Why did you accuse her of cheating on you?
She was so faithful!
Why did you rape her?
She didn't deserve it!
Nine months later she gave birth to a baby girl
And you claim that she's not your daughter
You called her a slut that day
You told her she wasn't beautiful
You slapped her when she began to cry
You hit her until the nurse came
Finally they took you out
But she didn't press charges
Instead she went back home to you
And that's when you did
You shot that beautiful woman
Now she's dead.......all because of you

It's sad to say this happens all too often in the world, & the ones who are getting hurt are too afraid to speak up or still in some way love that person to forgive. How sad it is,very good write.Christina

This is so sad. But true. A cutomer where I work suffers this. Her family and even the people I work with have tried to convince her to leave him. We have even opened up our homes to her and her two children. I fear that someday it may end the way your poem did.

This is a very good poem. Sad but true. Both my mom and myself were beaten by one of our boyfriend's but the good news is that we got out safely and a very happy now.

This is really sad, i grew up around
this all my life, and it had gotten to the
point at one time where a gun was pulled
and it was scary because i dont know
what i would have done had that trigger
been pulled, This is such a strong sad
write, It really hit home with me
Thanks for sharing it
