My Rainbow

My life has been a rainbow
I've been in light and dark
Daw to dusk is how I've lived
Leaving my permanent mark
I was born in pink and red
Being a girl, it was okay
As I grew the color changed
And orange took the day
Everything was new to me
I learned and played and cried
But once again the color changed
And orange slowly died
Yellow took the spotlight
Filling life with bright new joys
But even that was short lived
With green I turned to boys
Green was the color of the time
It lasted quite a while
But as green slowly faded away
The blues took away my smile
The blues must be run at a different speed
It seems they move quite slowly
Because I've been here quite a while
And it's getting really lonely
Purple is the last color
So close to deep dark black
I wonder if there is anyway
To get my birthcolors back.

| this is a late comment...still ... its a really fresh poem. very vivid. I love the way you have sequentially followed the colours of the rainbow ...and yet the flow of thoughts is very smooth....nice work !!! |
