It was so long ago that I found you
Eaten away by time and the world.
Everything that happened shaped you
Into someone, you did not much care for.

I saw that person too one day
And I did not care for him either.
But he was you even though
I could barely recognize him as you.

It is so weird to see someone
That you have known forever
But to have that person turn out to be
A very different boy.

I do not want to hate that part of you
For I know it's still you
But it scared me to see you like that
Hurt, broken and near the edge.

I was so used to seeing you with a smile
And dancing around through lifes fire.
But when the other you showed up
It was so different and frightening.

It is part of you and I know that
It is a part I needed to see
To know that I will always be with you
No matter what parts of you show up.
