The Path Not to Take

Contributed by lanna047 on Wednesday, 13th October 2004 @ 08:28:04 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

you once gave me strength I lacked
for the first time, I felt safe inside
I could have done almost anything
as long as you were by my side

that was the gift you gave me
perhaps you were not aware
but it turned out to be so short-lived
and suddenly became a nightmare

maybe you don't realize
these things you took away
when you decided us being together
shouldn't last another day

and now I'm back to where I started
perhaps worse off than before
now I have losing you to deal with
and it stings right down to my core

you're such a different person now
the man I once knew is gone
replaced by someone far and distant
who I can no longer rely on

but I've become lost without you
you were once my guiding light
now I stumble in the darkness
my days turned into one unending night

you promised to always be there
but I see, now, the way you are
you just sit back and look away
pretending that you didn't leave a scar

there is nothing I am certain of
I've wandered off the path I knew
but the one I'm sure not to take
is the one leading back to you

Sad but a great write.
Keep the faith and don't let this get u down too far.
someone so fickle isn't worthy of your deep luv.
I've been down this road many times before but u gotta realize the problem is there's not yours. U no doubt have great luv for this person and someday they will realize they lost a good thing.
hang tuff.
luv, huggs, strength,
emy
