wish i could be like this tree the only one, you're perfect scenery my leaves would be red and green full and thick and you'd still see through me to my bark which you agree is as good as pure gold and always will i stand for you never ever will i fall, my love
in the summer when you're so hot i hope you will sit under me in the spring i hope you watch me bloom and love the colors that you see in the winter i'd gather so much snow and be the most beautiful thing you've ever known and always will i stand for you
i'll be that support for your swing as i stand over you watching you sleep i'd guard you from rain only a sweet breeze would lightly go through my leaves hitting your face ever so gently if i were a tree, my love i'd be the strongest most beautiful tree for thee my leaves would dance only for you to see
and lord if i should fall before he wakes i pray my wood he will cut up and take take to the fire to keep him so warm or use me to protect him during the darkest storm hope my heat is everlasting and strong i pray he uses all of me till i am completely gone.
