Your memory haunts me still
I'm bereft now that you're gone
But I'll never really be free
And I'll never really move on
Until the lingering hope in me dies
Like the dwindling embers on the hearth
That someday you may recant
And our love might enjoy a rebirth
My heart triple beats with a start
When a knock on the door I perceive
My hope and my fears intermix
And for a fleeting moment, I believe
Yet again, I'm flung to the depths
As I return to my solitary repast
Of broken dreams and busted hopes
...your fetters still hold me fast

| Oooh, I liked this one! I don't know why but it kind of in a slight way reminded me of the Raven, don't ask why, I guess jus the feel. Good job though! |
