Slipping Again

Contributed by Silent-No-More on Friday, 15th October 2004 @ 11:20:26 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

Remember how it was
Before it was anything
When Id slip sometimes
And youd see me
Struggling
And tell me
In that sweet, wonderful way
To hold tight
To hang on
To be strong?

I remember, too well
And it scares me
Because Im slipping again
Returning to that
Dark corner
Without you
Wanting, needing now, your words
To bring me back
To pull me out
To be strong.

And I cant remember
How I used to do it alone
How I found my way
Without your light
Getting lost
And then somehow
Being able to find my way out
To recover
To move on
To be strong.

Now all I remember
Is how you took hold of my hand
And tugged and tugged
Until I was free of it
Out of the dark
And into your arms
And I want, I need, to be there now
To be with you
To have you
To be strong.

fantastic write snm. maybe the reason you are in a block is because you have no inspiration. no dramatic feelings or experiences to write about. find the inspiration and you find an end to the block.

Hope those struggles lead you out of the dark and into the light. As you say BE STRONG. I wish you much peace. Thanks for sharing.

I love this write, but it makes me sad..because the one who pulled me back..well, he's just gone..ain't coming back and writes like this make me remember that I'm in a deep hole alone..alone alone..(that's an echo...lol)
beautiful write though. Awful that pain inspires beauty.
F-D up if you ask me.

Just happened to be passing by and noted your poem.

* hums Red red wine... *

hmmmmmmmm you little ol' wine drinker you :o)

I see a block as being akin to a lull in the wind - usually means that the wind is about to change it's direction.

Good "temporary wine inspired" write.

Jordan :o)x

Beautfiul poem, written well for someone that hasnt been inspired by anythign to write, maybe the brain just needed a break or time out, so the it could refill the reserves.

Stunning, yet always heartbreaking

So personal to me, I love the confidence I have in your work. I know going into it that it will be something engaging and enjoyable.

It's so sad...

And I can’t remember
How I used to do it alone

No one should ever have to do it alone, I know I never want to again. It is my worst fear.

Always,

Vanessa

As long as that someone is sure to be there for you, it sounds like you really don't want to remember how it used to be.
And thats not really a bad thing...:)

Again, I constantly repeat myself about your writes....they are so full, so deep. I see much in this....sadness, fear, hope, want and yet underneath all that a tentative happiness? love? something good anyway.
I love the way you put so much into your works...so much of....you!
Great job!

Well, I am certainly glad you didn't remove it. Written so exquisitely with raw emotion!!! A bit of a tear jerker I might ad.

You really do write incredible poems. :-)
