make a wish...
the suggestion, a slipcover for a thesis of lies... a few words strung together to make peace with the tension - gallivanting between us w/ holes in its shoes...
tied down, like we are to each other by six years and two weeks, 3rd street and so on...
you say happy birthday but i know what you mean...
and we sit, feet together on a hardwood floor, chainsmoking (as always) and you - lighting candles to reach 21...
celebrating the life you nearly took from me...
