remember the way we used to be
together forever, you and me
when nothing felt wrong, it was all okay
but then came the day when our love faded away
nothing is left of you and me
like the ashes of roses that've ceased to be
we were crumpled and dying
and now we're just lying
frozen together, yet so very apart
we keep trying to kill feelings before they restart
and following others, like thimbles and thumbs
with the thread through the needles and everyone's stung
i love the way we used to be, but these feelings now are killing me
