I cried when we grew apart,
Too different to be together.
I became constantly jealous,
Of the girls that surrounded you.
We fought, yelled and screamed,
Not sure of what was happening.
Nowhere to go from here,
Friends the only option left.
We started off slowly,
With only one foot grounded.
Every chance we got from then on,
We clashed on every occasion.
Then you became silent and troubled,
Distanced from everyone else.
Knew I had to be there for you,
Became what I wanted to avoid.
Now known as only your friend,
Helped you through your pain.
Everything I once felt for you,
Pushed down deep within.
When you first voiced to me,
Those simple words of Thank You.
It made everything seem better,
Knew I would survive this.
I found out only yesterday,
You're in love with my friend.
The jealousy came back to life,
But I'm just glad that I'm your friend.
