Gods Little Angels

You never asked to be brought here
Into a world that doesnt care
Who doesnt hear the cries of a child
Who turns away when the sounds too loud
Your teachers have eyes, yet they pretend to not see
The bruised arms, the swollen knees
Your neighbors have ears, yet they pretend to not hear
The yelling at night, the sobbing of fear
All the agencies that are suppose to protect
Fail to recognize these acts of neglect
Too often these children slip through the cracks
Due to the failure of someone to react
So the abuse goes on with no apparent end
Brought upon the small, too weak to defend
But soon precious child, your wings would have grown
And God will be able to call you home
To the gardens of peace, to the shores of no pain
Where Gods little angels can live and reign
