Lost In The Mist

Contributed by pixie on Tuesday, 19th October 2004 @ 10:34:58 AM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

I have been cast into the mist,
Walked right into hates clenched fist,
Blow after blow I become so numb,
I have no strength left to try & run.

For years I have been very lost,
Into oblivion I have been tossed,
Long forgotten, broken & battered,
Like a pane of glass thats been shattered.

I cant see the way that I should go,
It seems my river has lost its flow,
Where can I go to whom can I turn?,
When I feel my heartache start to burn.

Why is there nobody here for me?
I need a bit of help can no-one see?
I am invisible to the rest of the world,
I am now just a ghost of a girl.

As the mist gets thicker I begin to panic,
My actions become unhinged & manic,
My scream gets caught inside my throat,
All my demons begin to gloat.

As I spiral down & down,
My bones shatter as I hit the ground,
All I can hear is the sound of loneliness,
Everything around me is such a mess.

this leaped out to me because I relate I also liked the flow of your words and the way you ended the poem by breaking the rhyme

I hope you read my post today about finding the way out of my own fog. I needed someone much stronger and all-knowing to lead me out. I know the feelings you discuss here. I have been there. I'll say a prayer for you today.

Pixie you have commented so often on my little poems that I wish there was some way for me to help you. This poem speaks of deep depression. May you have the guidance that you are so obviously seeking. Hugs from bernard.
