Sitting on the beach
tasting the salty sea air
I felt the sand betwean my toes
and wished you were there
The sun beat down on my back
and a breeze played in my hair
I picked up a faded broken shell
and wished you were there
I watched as a fish jumped out of the water
seemingly with no care
I rolled the shell betwean my fingers
and wished you were there
A wave crashed down on the shore
the water so crystal clear
for once in my life I felt truely alive
and I wished you were there
The smell of the ocean filled my nose
as I caught myself in a stare
the day would have been completely perfect
if only you had been there...
