Eyes of a Fool

Words don't end wars, only make them worse. So let me say I love you before we become bitter silence. And when no one is looking, we can play our parts and end the charade when eyes reopen.
But when I close my eyes, I feel like I'm armored, protected from an eternity of loneliness. When you close your eyes, do you pray for prettier words? Let us paint a working picture, ease of use rather than design.
Your absence only hurts when my heart beats, but I'm not alone unless you're here.
Don't worry too much, though, it only hurts when you're here, looking into the eyes of a fool.
