What am I?
Am I a real girl?
A piece of dirt?
A statue that everyone walks by but doesn't notice?
I have trouble
Figuring out what I really am
I feel like a piece of dirt
I'm kicked around
It hurts
People don't care about me
They kick me along while they chat with their good friends
I think somedays
That I'm a statue
I stand still
The world whizzes by me
I stand there
But nobody notices me
They just think I'm there
To be there
Somebody put me there because they didn't care about me
So the world keeps going
As I stand still as a statue
I believe I'm a real girl
A real person
Someone who deserves to be loved
Someone who deserves to love
Someone who can show her emotions
Someone who has real friends
I believe
I'm a girl
With great potential
With talent
With integrety
I believe I'm just like anyone else
But people treat me like dirt
Like a statue
Waiting for someone to wish me alive
Waiting for someone to notice me
Waiting for someone to pick me up and take me home with them
Waiting
Just waiting
For the day
When people start to realize what I really am
