The bitter numbness grows inside It intwines as it spreads it soaks in sickeningly slowly until the paralysis takes over more than just a state of mind harder than rock, stronger than steel cold and firm forming a concrete wall around my heart no feeling can penetrate

Great. Could be just me, but this poem made me think of apathy . . . do numbness and paralysis lead to it, or is it merely a by-product of them? Sorry to ramble; I'm in a philosophical mood. But anyhow (obviously) this poem made me think, and that's always a good thing. So, for that and more, nice job.
