Nameless poem...

Contributed by SlimStaple on Thursday, 28th October 2004 @ 07:01:56 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

In a moment
Darkness hits you
Plunging you down in to a spiral of pain.
Desperate and lonely
You lie there bent and broken.
Wishing and hoping for some help
As you lie on the pavement
Crying out your life.

A coldness grasps you
And holds you from the heart.
It freezes your love
And kills your soul.
It holds you in its painful grasp
And chokes the breath from your body.

The suddenly you feel
A warm hand on your shoulder
Holding you tightly.
From that hand a warmth spreads
Over your whole body.
Sweet words are whispered
And promises of no pain are made.
But trust from you is hard to get
And you try to get away.

But that hand turns into a hug
A hug that is holding you still.
The whispers say
"It's okay. No more, hurt. No more pain."
He promises to set you free
From your prison of pain and hate.
You take a breath
And try to think.
Maybe it is true this time.

Your freezing heart begins to melt
And the warmth spreads all over.
Your tingle with a feeling you have not had in so long.
Since before the freezing darkness.
So you take the hand
That held your shoulder
And follow him away from the darkness.
Find happiness with your savoir.

Now before you leave I have on thing to ask
Why do you keep thinking?
That the love between you two is wrong.
When he was the only one that could help you
And the only one that could make you love?
I see the way you look around
Making sure no one sees the two of you
Kissing in the rain.

So just, think about your pain
When you think that your love
Is not someone you should love
Because if you hadn't found him
You would still be there
Crying out your soul.

there is a great message here, and i think anyone with a love that they don't appreciate should read it.

sometimes you aren't who you are without the people in your life who have affected you.
