The Woman and The Girl

Theres a woman on the outside and a little girl within
The girl cries tears in agony while the woman grins
The woman feels shes all grown up the girl is scared to death
The woman breaths with ease while the girl struggles for breath
The woman she forgets but the girl will not forgive
The woman says that shes all right time and time again
Not a scratch or scrape is found upon the womans skin
The girl hides all the bruises and the scars she has within
The woman acts as if she has the world all figured out
But the girl is clueless dumb and blind and weak and full of doubt
The woman reaches out for love the girl still full of hate
Anger that she cannot ease memories she cant erase
The little girl forever shes consumed by all this hurt
The woman wonders why she feels theres something inside of her
The brave and fearless woman will not let out this inner child
For fear of what others would think of her so she just smiles
On the outside so alive but dying inside so fast
Haunted by misfortune this pain doesnt have to last
But too much pride keeps this inside she wont let herself go
The girl has so much to tell but the world will never know

wow, i love this.. especially the last stanza:
On the outside so alive but dying inside so fast
Haunted by misfortune this pain doesn’t have to last
But too much pride keeps this inside she won’t let herself go
The girl has so much to tell but the world will never know
