We Forgot How to Love

Yesterdays a memory and forever gone
Theres been so much hurt and maybe Im wrong
But we havent been happy for so many years
It hurts, but Im now realizing my fears.
Its time for us to part, time to say good-bye
We cant change things now even if we try
We dont talk about our problems, worries or doubts
Ive tried to tell you but you always shut be out.
Its hard to say good-bye after so many years
We both deserve happiness, not sadness and tears
The kids are grown, soon well be left here alone
We cant go on like this with little love ever shown
We have nothing in common, not much to say
Were more like strangers now, not like our yesterday
Hurt feelings and resentments pulled us apart
Words wont help now, we both need a new start.
I wish you happiness, love, a purpose in life
Ill never regret loving you or being your wife
Its time to move on, time for us to part
Find happiness again and make a new start.
We forgot how to love, forgot how to share
Treated each other like we didnt care
Forgot the compliments, the little things in life
Forgot how to treat each other like husband and wife.

very touching, and so very sad, you expressed it well although you must have felt some pain while writing this, sometimes it is easy to forget that we are lovers not fighters, i really do hope that you and your husband are getting back on track now and that you can be happy once again,

| brilliant write. powerful and emotional, and very well written. all things come to an end sooner or later, but it was to be what is best for each of you, and separation sounds like it, but talking it out and having him listen might help some things... |

Sometimes people are too stubborn to change, this poem was written in 2000, we have since gone our separate ways
