I have been away for so long
When I returned my life was gone
Everything looks different to me
Why can't things be what they used to be
I knew that I was to be betrayed
I knew that no one would come to my aid
You betrayed one who in you did trust
Now all is lost and turned to dust
I am vanishing in this mist I foresaw
I wrote of it many years before you all
I knew this day would come and finally it did
I can now start living the life I see fit
You are my past and the past will die
You said it yourself that I should leave the past behind
Confirming all that has happened releases my pain
But nothing will ever again be the same
