Longing is an endless black sheet
Stretched over the horizon
Your fingers splayed where love meets
Leaving kisses along my chest
The sun, captivating, pouring over the hopeless
Filling them with despair and bitter smiles
And a thousand swords plunge through the darkness
Soaked red in love
Breaking through the endless heartache.
Because when push comes to shove,
I will always succeed.
A drizzle of rain becomes a storm
With no shelter
Where do you turn?
I will go to the corner alone again
Waiting once more to drift away
Into my deep insanity
Where my only friend is me.
Until you come to my side
And lift my dampened spirits
Where I can no longer hide
And in the end
Nothing but a war against desire
A war against me
And in the end
To lose is inevitable.
