The Greatest Teenage Romance With The Greatest Fall

Contributed by SuchGreatHeights on Sunday, 31st October 2004 @ 06:23:54 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Lets talk this over, over drinks, and maybe we can score a point tonight
try to keep those hands to yourself,
cause this look means business, the lights turned down don't improve your odds
the way words slip off your tongue is so beautiful,
so please, i plead, im running out of breath, i never said i would beg,
your looks come close, but your attention doesnt give easy,
not at all, especially to me,
im thinking something crazy, like wishes to a bad star, and
i cant stop this, so why did you say all those things?
they meant alot more than just nothing,
oh yea, too much sweetheart,
this is poor Romeo and Juliet, this will hit the headlines tomorrow,
come and get it, the print is still fresh, and she said
"dont let it get to your head, it will just kill you" and kill me it did, maybe ill learn to hate you,
like the marks on this wrist,
put your bets against me, (i am)
i hope you get everything you deserve, so lets go,
so i can watch you break your word,
your so pretty with pity in your eyes,
and you love me more when i lie,
i must look so cold, cause your so warm,
is your name carved on my arm that cool?
this is such hopeful wishful thinking, its making me sick

Fantastic, wonderful, superb (any more superlatives needed?) poem. Some of the lines in this just blew me clean away. I am *very* impressed; do keep it up!

--Nora

P.S. Grammatical errors sorta detract from this poem's power, however. Maybe ask someone to edit them first? I'd be glad to, if no one else wants.

This was awesome...seriously...was it inspired by Taking Back Sunday...a lot of the lines reminded me of a few songs
